If you’ve arrived at Jungle Hut by tricycle but you fancy renting a scooter you can also ask Ralph or Raph who have a couple of bikes available for our guests. BUT, please go easy on our road. We’re aware that it needs improving but are still working towards this so for now please just be careful and avoid using the front break when riding on the lose limestone or steep parts of our road. Although we do our best to provide all you need please remember we live the simple life here in Siquijor island.

Mother Nature
Please remember this is the Jungle and our cabins are native. We do our best to keep mother nature at bay but sometimes it’s out of our control. Please do your part to assist us with this. If you leave food out on the side you can expect some visitors. We’ve provided a hanging basket for dried snacks and you have a fridge so best to keep your food in there to avoid chickens, cats or any other unwanted thief’s stealing them. The TOKO’s...... No, it’s not a Komodo dragon! And it won’t eat you either! That loud “TO-KO” noise you can hear is our bug eating friend. They’re everywhere here in the province so you can expect them in and around Jungle hut, or any other accommodation within the island for that matter. Don’t worry, they’re totally harmless and will help to take care of any bugs for you.
The Kitchen
Our kitchen is simple but we mostly have everything necessary for you survive. Please find all utensils and cook ware available in the cupboards. We provide some ingredients to get you started. So oil, soy, vinegar, sugar, salt and coffee are all there for you to help yourself too but if you wish to cook its best to buy supplies from the local market.Supplies
We have also stocked the fridge with a few supplies for you to buy. So, beer, coke and any other supplies you find in there will have to be paid for. This Is managed by Ralph and Raph and serve as a little side business for them so please don’t forget to pay before leaving. Soaps, towels, toilet rolls etc are all provided too. If you run out just ask and we will replenish them for you. Also, please don’t steal our shampoo bottles.... towels, kitchen ware, furniture, workers or plants lol. None of them are freebies...Power Shortages
Internet
Generally speaking, our internet speeds are fine for general use of Youtube, socials and any other light work but please remember this is Siquijor island so from time to time the connection may be a little slower. We do our best but unfortunately this is often out of our control. If during your stay we suffer a power shortage and you have a social media emergency then the router will auromaticall run for a while. After this you'll be with your surroundings. Make the most of them! If its a real emergency still you can plug the router into the battery backup and this should run for a few hours.
Safety
Siquijor province is safe. We rarely experience any issues here but like anywhere else, just take precautions by locking doors when going out and leaving valuables out of sight. Other gems
Lazi has heaps to explore asides from the famous spots. Just use google maps or ride around and you’re sure to find something to explore. There’re rice fields, caves, waterfalls, mountain ranges and of course hidden beaches all within a few Kilometers....
Beaches
It’s a 30-40 mins ride to San Juan where you can find the most famous of Siquijor’s beaches but if you fancy something a bit more of the beaten track head through the back roads towards Maria and find some quieter and less trodden beaches. Some to note are Kagasuan beach, Balas-Balas, Secret beach or Monkey beach..
Restros
Lazi has a few options for food. We highly recommend Twenty4 café who will also deliver to Jungle Hut. Theres also Montes in the town. Y road or Hidden Valley Is worth a visit if you don’t mind a 15-20 min ride. You can also check out Mad monkey which just opened this year. If you fancy more options just head to the more touristy part of the island in San Juan and you’ll be spoilt for choice. ...The mountains
Pin ‘Cantabon’ on google maps and head up into the mountain area. Here you’ll find nice forest areas, the famous Cantabon cave and short hikes to explore along with some of Siquijor’s more mystic endeavors. Between Cantabon and San Antonio is mostly where all the healers live and practice. You can ask the locals to point you in the right direction. You can ask for Bolo Bolo healing practice or a Hilot massage (with mystic oils) and you’re sure to get some weird and wonderful. ...San Juan
Here you’ll find heaps of cafes, restros, resorts, dive shops and stores that sell more international products. It’s famous for Paliton beach and incredible sun sets but also the spot to visit if you fancy some nightlife too.Diving
Dive into Siquijor’s incredible underwater world. We highly recommend our friends at Bahura Dive Siquijor, who are here in Lazi.
They offer fun dives, Padi courses, snorkeling tours, Apo island day trips + much more.
